On 16 October, from 12.00 pm to 5.00 pm, Manifesta 12 Education Hub is at the University of Palermo, department of Architecture.
During the Info Day Manifesta 12 will get settled at the University of Palermo engaging the students in the series of talks, workshops, and welcoming them at the Manifesta 12 Education Hub, the city bus radically transformed to a mobile educational platform by Enorme Studio (Madrid) together with the students of the Industrial Design course of UniPa.
On these occasions, some key professors from various departments of the University will join Manifesta 12 team and talk about the effects that an international art event such as Manifesta has had on Palermo and its citizens.
Students will have a chance to discover the iconic architectural interventions of Manifesta 12 in Palermo as well as ‘Palermo Atlas’, an in-depth urban research of the city done by famous architectural firm OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture) of Rem Koolhaas. The professors of UniPa Maurizio Carta and Giuseppe Guerrera will present the projects of M12 Studios and DARCHxM12 respectively. M12 Studios is a collaboration between UniPa, TU Delft and Architectural Association and Royal College of Arts from London investigating and proposing the future scenarios for the city of Palermo. DARCHxM12 is a programme of workshops, conferences, lectures, exhibitions and research projects by the Department of Architecture of UniPa responding to the multiple topics of The Planetary Garden. Simultaneously Architect and Manifesta 12 Architecture Consultant Pietro Airoldi will discuss with students the development of the project by collective Rotor at Pizzo Sella.
